Bacalar, so very very very beautiful
I should have taken more pictures.
(There are a few more, but I don't want to ask my husband's permission to put him all over my blog. I will just assume one good picture of the 2 of us is okay by him. Unless he actually reads my blog, and tells me otherwise. Lol)
This place is very healing. The energy is good, and I could feel it at first sight. Once we actually found some public access, that is. We drove past a lot of private property first, because of the access road we picked.
To be in this picture, to be at this lake, well it's simply amazing. Such a photogenic place. Such a peaceful body of water. The colors there surrounded me like a soothing blanket.
The moment we walked out of the water I couldn't wait to get back "some day". We only spent a few hours there, but made some amazing memories. Captured some of the sweetest moments.
If I didn't already believe in God, this is the place to change one's mind. The beauty and grace of the scene is so completely remarkable. It filled me up as I emptied my mind out into the water so the daily thoughts could swim away. There was such a stillness, I can't do justice to the over-all experience here.
This is a bucket list place, folks. You should come see it for yourself. It's a long and narrow lake near Chetumal and the Caribbean Sea. It's famous for the striking blue colors and the clarity of the water. When I return I'm going in one of the glass bottom/see through kayaks! This dream makes my heart smile.
