XCAMBO archaeological site

Smallest site. Catholic influence mingled in. Deserted. Close to flamingo habitat.
Great place for a photo shoot. Feels abandoned by ancient people and the current population. (We were the only ones there for half an hour until 3 women arrived)
It's fun just to get there! Go down deserted roads and tiny towns with big churches, and miles of stone fences that makes me wonder how much time and energy went into them all. It's baffling to me. Seeing flamingos in the wild was pretty incredible too. Not just flamingos but other bigger birds too, white ones, dark ones. I saw one flamingo fly, and it was incredibly cool.
It was eerie to walk down a deserted and unmarked trail. It felt so remote, it was unreal. Like a shaman in a huge head-dress could walk out from the jungle at any moment. Walking around in the heat I could almost hear the echos of past people from so very long ago. The ancient reverberations of lives lived, of generations from so long ago that it's hard for me to imagine what their lives could possibly be like.
